Fashion Law Institute’s Bootcamp in Silicon Valley, California - Summer 2017
The Fashion Law Institute headquartered at Fordham Law School in New York City, offered a west coast Fashion Law Bootcamp on July 26-July 28, 2017 in Silicon Valley, California.
Included in this bootcamp was a visit to the denim pioneers Levi’s office in San Francisco, where they discussed both their historic past, future styles, and technological advances coming to their classic selection of jeans, casual wear, jackets and accessories.
Next stop, they visited The RealReal Consignment Warehouse (luxury shopping for pre-owned goods). The RealReal is an authenticated luxury consignment marketplace, where you can buy and sell luxury goods from top women’s and men’s luxury fashion brands (such as Chanel, Christian Louboutin, Céline, Hermes, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Manolo Blahnik), and a plethora of other top quality goods including jewelry.
Lastly, the bootcamp attendees visited Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California (photo above). Apple educated the group on their security objectives to maintain quality control and protect their innovative new products.
This bootcamp was brilliantly expedited by Professor Susan Scafidi, Esq. who pioneered the study of fashion law, founded the Fashion Law Institute and serves as its academic director. She was ably assisted by Professor Jeff Trexler, Esq. who is the Associate Director at the Fashion Law Institute.
Lectures by both professors Scafidi and Texler punctuated this learning experience on the future of fashion and innovations.
